Fans of the Oklahoma City Thunder were left stunned last night, as the team’s NBA Cup Semifinal game ended with a win for the opposing San Antonio Spurs. “We were all furious when the buzzer sounded, because the other team still had more points than we did,” said season ticket holder Noah Cooper. “They’re meant to wait until we have more points before they end the game, I don’t know what’s going on.” Cooper wasn’t alone in his anger, as many Thunder supporters have demanded an official investigation into the incident. One disgusted follower said the game had undermined his trust in the referees, who had flagrantly ignored the courtesy free throws usually awarded to star guard Shae Gilgeous-Alexander.

Another attendee said she’d heard from friends that this is actually a legal way for the game to end. “I know a Pelicans fan, and he tried to tell me there’s even a name for this - I think it was a…a loose? I just thought that was something that happened to other teams, it’s really worrying to know that it can happen here too.”
